Ever since its establishment in the year 2005, the Lichtwoche Sauerland grew to become one of the most important meeting places for the lighting industry.
Lichtwoche Sauerland
One of the most important meeting places of the industry
Idea
One event at many different locations
The Lichtwoche Sauerland is not taking place on a single fairground. Local companies use their own properties for the exhibition and invite customers on site. Customers commute from location to location in order to experience products at the point of origin. Non-local exhibitors use pop-up show rooms in rented facilities (e.g. hotel lobbies). The fair is aimed first and foremost at specialised visitors from the lighting industry and represents a distinguished meeting place for renowned manufacturers, traders, buyers and resellers of lamps and luminaires.
Responsibilities
Many minds – one idea
The Lichtforum NRW is responsible for the execution of the Lichtwoche Sauerland. The strategic aspects of the fair are mapped out together with the spokespersons of the Lichtwoche Sauerland, who are elected from among the participants.
Concept
Experience products at their origin
The concept of the fair was established by representatives of the industry in cooperation with the municipalities of the cities of Arnsberg and Sundern. Both cities are known for their high density of companies among the lighting industry. Specialized visitors are not only able to inspect products but experience them at the locations of their manufacturing origin or selling point. This is why lamps, luminaires and components are not presented in a standard exhibition hall. Unifying elements of this decentralized fair are a joint evening programme and a special marketing strategy.
