Snow showers and frosty temperatures did not exactly make the arrival in the beautiful Sauerland region comfortable. But what pushed the many visitors into the rooms of the exhibitors was not so much the weather: in addition to a warm welcome, the exhibitions were filled to the brim with stylish luminaires in classic or modern shapes and colors. The choice of materials for the product lines on display also left nothing to be desired and guaranteed atmospheric accents for home furnishings. The trend and performance show of the leading industry players thus demonstrated once again how innovation, efficiency and sustainability can be translated into fashionable products.
At the same time, the Lichtwoche Sauerland must be viewed in the context of recent events. Be it three years of pandemic or now a year of war in Europe: the crisis events are serious and multi-layered. "Life for all of us, and thus also doing business as a company - whether on the supplier side or on the trade side - has become more challenging and more difficult," stated this year's spokesman for Lichtwoche Sauerland, Wolf Hustadt, in his welcoming address to exhibitors and customers. "Everyone, without exception, is challenged to meet the demands of a world that has become uncertain and unpredictable - personally and economically." In terms of the decorative and domestic lighting trade, this makes the need for close exchange within the industry increasingly important. "And for this the Lichtwoche Sauerland has established itself nationally and internationally as a fixed milestone for the necessary dialogue," Hustadt emphasizes. "In this way, we can not only jointly develop innovative goods, but also drive forward processes that form real added value and meet the challenges of our time."
As the largest meeting place for the lighting trade, the 11th edition of Lichtwoche Sauerland received full confirmation from exhibitors and customers, who were clearly made up of the players who are absolutely relevant to the market. While the Sauerland companies presented themselves in their local buildings, the many companies not based in the region convinced with attractive exhibitions in hotels, studios and other premises. This approach in the principle of the "house fair" unfolds its advantages in clearly more intensive customer discussions. For example, exhibitors appreciated that customer contact is much more personal than at centered trade fairs. The customers, in turn, praised the opportunity to reflect on the discussions and impressions that the travel time between exhibitors gives them. A successful concept that will now be held annually. Thus, the next Lichtwoche Sauerland will again welcome the European lighting and luminaire trade to Sauerland in the spring of 2024.
